Lisbon is an undiscovered treasure to many travellers in the South of Europe
the first thing you should do is choosing between a tour to several places or just one village. If you choose the first alternative you should visit for example the Queluz palace, the Da Pena palace and Sintra. Sintra is a “must”. Summer palaces for both Portuguese royal families and Maurice lords are situated here. Charming, original architecture and history in the village make this worthy a visit. If you want to eat lunch during the tour, should you do that at”Guincho” the beach North of Cascais. Here you can find one of the worlds best seafood restaurants. We usually don’t like to use praising words, but after some visits here everyone realize that the information is not exaggerated.
If you want to stay longer in Lisbon, you have many things to choose between. A lot of people compare this city with San Francisco. A tram that drives up and down in steep slopes situated against the open sea with an atmosphere of romance and adventure. The city is situated at a hill between the river Tejo and the Atlantic sea. At the hill of Alfama there is an old fort with a view over the city, while the Barro Alto hill at the opposite side of the centre has a more typical Portuguese- European architecture. Many of the beautiful buildings you find in Lisbon are constructed after the big earthquake in 1755. If you have a chance during the evening should be spent at one of the fado bars in Lisbon. This is melancholic romantic way to sing that is very beautiful and it should best be enjoyed with a good bottle of wine in the old town.
